CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WATERLOO GHOSTS U15 GOLD TEAM
ON BRINGING HOME THE SILVER MEDAL FROM NATIONALS!!!
ONE TEAM-ONE DREAM - Waterloo Ghosts Gold u15 finished 2nd in Canada The Waterloo Ghosts Gold u15 team finished off an amazing season with a second place finish at the Canadian Championships in Chateauguay, Quebec where 21 teams competed. In what was an epic battle against the Abbotsford Outlaws 2009A team from British Columbia, the Ghosts lost 1-0 in the 9th inning under the international tie-breaker rule. It was a battle of two dominant pitchers at the girls u15 level; Cassidy Kennedy-BC and Natalie Tasker-Waterloo, Ontario.
Waterloo definitely had their chances leaving 12 runners stranded to BC’s 6 and having the bases loaded in the 8th with no outs and again in the 9th with two out but they just could not find a way to get that run across the plate. The Ghosts went a perfect 6-0 in pool play to finish first overall. They defeated the same Outlaws team in the playoff round and their only loss was in the final game. The 2nd place finish caps off a season record of 58-11-1.
Special recognition to the three Waterloo Ghosts that made the All-star team (the most out of all 21 teams): Aubrey Civiero (best catcher), McKenzie Howard (top batter), Natalie tasker (MVP). Natalie also won MVP of the Championship Game.
This special group of athletes left it all on the field with their grit, passion and never give up attitude. These young ladies represented Ontario and the Waterloo Minor Girls Softball Association with class both on and off the field.
The team would like to thank the parents, families, sponsors and the entire community for all their support this season. 2024 Waterloo Ghosts Gold u15 roster: Aubrey Civiero Hannah Maric Jayden Girling Lauren Davies Lyla Naughton Mackenzie Howard Mady Smith Mia George Natalie Tasker Peyton Dickieson Piper Henderson Taylor Donn Jade Tough (pickup)
