Directions – Waterloo Ghost Tournament Parks

All of the parks used in the tournament are accessed off of University Ave. in Waterloo. University Ave. is a major artery in Waterloo and can be accessed as follows:

From the 401: Whether coming from the GTA, or the London direction on the 401, exit at #8, and proceed towards Kitchener/Waterloo. You should keep right, following signs to Waterloo on Highway #85 (Conestoga ParkWay). The parkway will quickly take you thru Kitchener, and into Waterloo. University Ave. has 2 exits off the Parkway, that are after the Bridgeport Rd exit. The Northfield Dr. exit is after the 2nd exit after the University exits.

From Guelph: Take #6 to Kitchener – it turns into Victoria St. Take Highway #85 (Conestoga Parkway) to Waterloo. The parkway will quickly take you thru Kitchener, and into Waterloo. University Ave. has 2 exits off the Parkway, that are after the Bridgeport Rd exit. Northfield Dr. exit is after the University exits.

From Stratford: Take #7 to Kitchener – it turns into Highway #85. Take Highway #85 (Conestoga Parkway) to Waterloo. The parkway will quickly take you thru Kitchener, and into Waterloo. University Ave. has 2 exits off the Parkway, that are after the Bridgeport Rd exit.Northfield Dr. exit is after the University exits.


Specific Park Directions:

Hillside Park, University Heights

Take the second exit (University Ave West) to University Ave off #85. Merging onto University Ave. you continue straight until you hit lights at Marsland – turn right and the park is at the top of the hill on the right. The University Heights practice/warmup area is on your left, just as you turn onto Marsland.

Waterloo Park 3, 4

Take the second exit (University Ave West) to University Ave off #85. Merging onto University Ave. you continue straight for quite a distance. Major streets you will cross include Weber, King, Albert, and Phillip. Still onUniversity Ave., after Phillip, you will cross railroad tracks (stop lights). The next set of lights is Seagrams Dr (university on right, parking lots on left) – turn left, proceed on Seagrams around a left hand bend – you’ll cross the tracks again and immediately on your right is the entrance to the park. Parking is near the tracks, and the diamonds are visible up the slight hill.

Waterloo Park 1, 2

Take the second exit (University Ave West) to University Ave off #85. Merging onto University Ave. you continue straight for quite a distance. Major streets you will cross include Weber, King, Albert, Phillip, and Seagrams. Still on University Ave., after Seagrams, you will come to lights at Westmount Rd – turn left onto Westmount. Within 100 metres, you will see the park entrance on the left, immediately before the former Firehall. Turn left and follow the road up the hill and down to the ball diamonds. (Picnic Facilities are available at this park)

NCR 1, 2, 3

Take the second exit for Northfield Dr off #85. Turn right onto Northfield. At the first set of lights (Parkside) turn right into the NCR parking lot. The diamonds are visable from the parking lot. If you come to King Street, yoiu have turned the wrong way on Northfield Dr.

RIM Park

Take University Ave East past the RIM Ice pad complex. (this is the opposite way from Waterloo Park) Diamonds 4, 5, and 6 are accessed off Country Squire Lane which runs off of Universty Ave. (These are not the diamonds with the light standards, but the ones across the Road)

Conestogo:

Take Northfield Drive to the village of Conestogo. Turn right on Sawmill Road, (this is the main street) and right again at Evening Star Lane. (Picnic Facilities are available at this park)

Auburn:

Take the University Ave. exit East (or North). Go through the first set of lights and turn left on Pastern Trail. Follow Pastern Trail to St Matthew School. The diamond is behind the school.
